ok fine, i'm blogging again

We have new additions to our family...3 hermit crabs. Thankfully, I only have to provide food and shelter for them for the weekend. Apparently the kids get to take them home from camp on the weekends, and this is our lucky weekend. Michaela made a to-do list so we all know what our hermit crab duties are. Notice I have no duties related to them (which is completely fine) and exhub's responsibility is to keep the dog out of the crab pad. I wasn't kidding when I suggested she might eat them. Cuz come on, she likes sushi, too.

I'm not sure how the almost 10 year-olds are expecting to play with them, but it'll be fun to watch.

In the new house - no crustaceans, only dogs. Today we looked at a house with a pool, a 400 square foot master bedroom, and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Tempting, but the cousins (aka my voices of reason) say no way in hell for like 20 reasons. Tomorrow I'll look at like 12 more. Fun, fun, fun! And I don't have to be home with the crabs.

Did I ever tell you about my hermit crab racing in Fiji? I don't think so...

So part of the island night's entertainment, some of the staff members went out and collected a bunch of hermit crabs from the beach and then painted numbers on their shells. After dinner one night we went down to the beach, draw a circle in the sand, and dumped te crabs out in the middle: the first to cross the line would win/move on to the nxt round. We went through 4 rounds, and MY crab won! I got 2 free beers out of that crab: one for 1st place prize, and another from a Swedish girl I had a side bet with.

I'm thrilled you're back in blog business. I love your posts. Thank you so much for posting on my Dad's blog. I'm so proud of him, and he was getting discouraged that I was his one and only reader. Told him it takes time.

Good luck with the house hunting. I really hope you settle on something with a pool. For your own pleasure, of course. Not for mine.

I'll bring the alcohol. Every time. I promise....

Thanks for the birthday wish.

If beer is involved in the care of Hermit Crabs, then count me in.

radha, thanks so much. it's fun to be back. i didn't have anything to blog about for awhile but hermit crabs are interesting enough, as are potential new houses. i'm down for the pool parties, but we need a poolboy if you happen to know of one who will meet the basic job requirements and makes good fruity drinks. i'm really praying to st. anthony to help me find a pool.

and radha's dad, your blog is cool as hell. i'm tempted to give my dad my blog address and see if he comments (i'd have to do some editing first, i guess). and i'm from milwaukee, so there could always be beer involved.
