saturday night's all right for fighting part 2
ghost blog #2...
Not long after Jilly and I began dating in 1989, we discovered an amazing fact. We had both chosen "Elton John's Greatest Hits" as our first, bonafide album purchase when we were kids. It was a cool, cosmic thing between us.
Flash forward to August, 1997. We're in Sutter Memorial Hospital, awaiting the birth of the twins. When it became evident that a c-section was necessary we headed to the OR. Jill went in to get prepped and I stayed outside in my gown, slippers and hairnet, waiting to go in to meet the Littles.
In the OR, we were looking for anything to make this experience more pleasant and calm. The anesthesiologist (who was hilarious) offered a choice of music to play, and one of the CDs he had was..."Elton John's Greatest Hits"! We could not believe it.
It was perfect. One of the songs that played was "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting", quite appropriate since it was, in fact, a Saturday night, and Zack was literally kicking his way out of the womb (hence the need for the c-section). We have the ultrasound picture of his foot sticking out to prove it.
Now the circular cliche is complete.

ok. that ghost blog is just sticky, gooey sweet. i'm sure you all wonder why we're not still married.
anyway, what a fantastic concert. he played my absolute fave (mona lisas and madhatters) and sorry does seem to be the hardest word. beautiful.
also, the video screen that just kept flashing pictures of screws, lips, and the word "BITCH" during the bitch is back was great.
as was "now we are crocodile rockin!"
now, on to billy joel. ok?
Eff Why Eye
Anyone wanting to come to NYC on 3/25 to see Elton's 60th B-Day blowout...there are no tickets left.
But, Justin Timberlake is playing in jersey on the 29th.
Anyway.
finally someone is bringing sexy back to new jersey.
last night was sold out too. good for him. i wonder if he wakes up in the morning and says to himself, "i cannot believe i am THIS talented and THIS famous."
elton, not justin.
OH.....I think if you see Billy this time around, you'll say to yourself....he's getting old.....
really? not worth a trip to oklahoma city?
I'm not sure that's a good enough reason to go to Ok City.
If it was Bruce or The Eagles or The Who or Prince....but not too sure about Bily the Kid.
you may be right. i may be crazy.
